ALLOPURINOL ALPHAPHARM is used in the treatment of:
gouty arthritis or gout, a condition of painful swollen joints caused by uric acid
crystals
kidney stones
other rare conditions where high levels of uric acid occur in the blood, for example
Lesch-Nyhan syndrome.
ALLOPURINOL ALPHAPHARM helps to treat the symptoms of these conditions but will not
cure them. It will not help treat the pain that occurs in an acute attack of gout.
ALLOPURINOL ALPHAPHARM belongs to a group of medicines called anti-uricaemic agents.
These medicines reduce the amount of uric acid in the body, therefore helping to prevent
the formation of deposits of uric acid crystals. Most commonly, high levels of uric
acid in the body are related to gout. Excess amounts of uric acid in the blood may
lead to the development of crystals which deposit in the joints, causing pain, swelling
and tenderness.

Use in children
There is not enough information to recommend the use of this medicine for children.
Alodorm is used to treat insomnia (sleeping problems).
Alodorm contains the active ingredient nitrazepam, which belongs to a group of medicines
called benzodiazepines. These medicines are thought to work by their action on brain
chemicals.

Your doctor may have prescribed Alodorm for another reason.
In general, benzodiazepines such as Alodorm should be taken for short periods only
(for example 2 to 4 weeks). Continuous long-term use is not recommended unless advised
by your doctor. The use of benzodiazepines may lead to dependence on the medicine.
Alodorm is available only with a doctor's prescription.

Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin trihydrate, potassium
clavulanate, penicillin or similar types of antibiotics (such as cephalosporins),
or any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI. Talk to your doctor if you
have any other medical conditions, take any other medicines, or are pregnant or plan

ALPHAMOX contains the active ingredient amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic that belongs
to a group of medicines called penicillins. ALPHAMOX is used to treat a range of infections
caused by bacteria. These may be infections of the chest (pneumonia), tonsils (tonsillitis),
sinuses (sinusitis), urinary and genital tract, skin and fleshy tissues.
ALPHAMOX works by killing the bacteria that causes these infections. ALPHAMOX can
also be used to prevent endocarditis (heart infection) in some people.
ALPHAMOX will not work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds or flu.

ALPHAPRESS is used to lower high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. It is
normally used together with other medicines for high blood pressure.
This medicine works by widening the blood vessels so that blood passes through them
more easily. This helps to lower blood pressure.

There is no evidence that this medicine is addictive.
ALPRIM contains the active ingredient called trimethoprim which belongs to a group
of medicines called antibiotics. ALPRIM is used to treat urinary tract infections
caused by bacteria. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that is causing
your infection.
Use ALPRIM only as directed and consult a health care professional if pain or symptoms
persist.
ALPRIM will not work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds or flu.

ALPRIM should not be administered to premature babies or infants under 4 months of
age.
ALPRIM is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age, as the safety

replacement factors, or any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI.
